Stirring in the shadow is that part of the self we dare not face. It emerges as a force both foreign and familiar—a blind spot of our soul—for the repressed and resisted, projected onto the world as archetypes, as personified images of the unknown within us. How do we encounter these fragments of the self that do not align with our ideals? Are they monstrous, or are they simply misunderstood? What happens when innocence meets degeneration, or when the familiar becomes strange? Can beauty be found in the grotesque, or purity in what we fear to see? When objects are stripped of their original purpose, what do they reveal about the bodies they once served? Does the protection they offer hold, or does it give way to vulnerability? As we peel away the layers—of masks, of identity, of memory—what truths remain, and what lies hidden beneath? In the tension between light and dark, where do we stand? Are we ready to confront the shadow, to ask the questions it poses, or do we let it linger, just out of sight?
